Digit-al Dozen Does My Home; Day 3

It's day 3 of the theme my home for Digit-al Dozen week!  This is my mani based upon one of my holiday towels in the bathroom at my house!  I've also decided to use this mani for the Nail Polish Canada holiday contest.  Please go here check out all the wonderful entries and vote for your favourite one! Thanks!

Started with a base of three coats of OPI My Wish List is You.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

For a festive look, added a thin coat of Pure Ice Yule Be Cool to accents.

Decided to add heavier coat to those nails, plus on the middle, then stamped thumb using MJ XXXVIII and ring with an image from Sugar Bubbles Special 02 using MdU 1.

Stamped pinky and index using same image from Messy Mansion MM30 and middle with SPH-004.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

My inspiration holiday towel. (It's clear I don't iron my towels lol!)

Digit-al Dozen Does My Home; Day 2

It's day 2 of my home theme for this month's Digit-al Dozen challenge.  Today's nails are inspired by the view outside my kitchen window as my yard backs onto ravine and I have this great forest view!  Not too bad for being in the heart of the city! I'm kinda fascinated by the trees back there and often take pictures of them when they are covered by the snow and ice and have posted a few pictures at the bottom of this post...anyway, this is what I came up with!

(Please excuse awkward hand pose but you can see the holo peek through like sparkly snowflakes!)

Started with a base of three coats of ILNP Central Station.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Curali 011 , then double stamped using MdU 1 and 2.  Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  Then added KBShimmer Yeti Or Not at tips.

Here's a few of the pix of the trees in the ravine that back onto my yard as I mentioned!

Digit-al Dozen Does My Home: Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week and our theme this month is my home!  But before we get to the nails, the Digit-al Dozen has some exciting news to share as we have added new members who are uber talented and they will be starting to share their mani's either this month or in January 2018!  Welcome Tiffany from Polish and Paws, Kim from Kimmett Kolor, Brethil from Druid Nails, Courtney from Polished Lifting, Michelle from Lacquer or Leave Her, Kirsty from Fairy Tales Nails!  Please watch out for the ladies mani's and be sure to check out their blogs....if you aren't already following them already which you probably are!

Here's my day 1 nails!  Home is Canada and (sorry to my other international nail pals) but I live in the best country in the world (although I have a feeling everyone will think the same for their home country lol)!  It's no secret I'm a proud Canadian and there is no better feeling when you've been traveling to get back 'home' to Canada!  As winter is upon us here in Canada, I've done a winter snow mani with hidden Canadian additions to tie it into the theme!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of red and white skittles (the official colours of Canada!) using OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Duri Taming of the Shrew.  Both are two coats with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Delaney Hiver A002 (middle), SugarBubbles SBS 08 (pinky and ring) and Delaney Hiver A001 (thumb and index).  Used Konad red and FunkyFingers Gesso for stamping polishes.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.  (Did you see the red maple leafs on the pinky and thumb?  Stamped from CJS LC-08.)

Funky French Flakes!

Did you get your bottle of Cirque Coronation at the recent flash release?  I was able to snag a bottle and my order recently arrived but I was more anxious to wear this lemming than Coronation!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Cirque Storm King, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Ejiubas EJB-03 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Went for a funky french look by sponging Girly Bits White Rabbit at the tips.  It was hard to get the thin scattered look I was going for as White Rabbit is crock full of glitter but I did try to sponge it on lightly as I could!

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I really like the simplicity of this look!

Hope you're having a great day and thanks for looking!

Swirly Snowflakes!

I have always liked the look of dark colours on shorties, so decided to go with this lightly shimmered navy on my newly shortened nails.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Icing My Date With A Royal; this is three thin coats.  The polish is fairly thin and it took the three coats for good coverage.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Ejiubas EJB-03 with FunkyFingers Gesso.  (Please excuse the tip of the nail on the index; the capful of acetone that I use for cleanup spilled all over my nails and the index finger took the worst hit; just mangled up the stamping at the tip of the index mainly.)

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Snowflake Sweater Nails!

Yes, it's that time of the year again; time to share all the snowflake and Christmas mani's!  I have a few snowflake mani's done but haven't eased into Christmas nails yet; it just seems a little too early!  I cut down my nails over the weekend; they seem painfully short (I even filed the index more after this as it just seemed a tad too long even in these pix) and I think its been a while since they've been this short!  I know they will grow back but they just seem sooo short right now!  Anyway, long or short nails, hang nails or not, I'm still doing my nails and this was the first mani I did with my new shorties! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Rise and Shine Nail Lacquer Skyline Drive, no top coat.  This was part of the September 2017 Polish Pickup offerings and I love me some flakies so had to have it!  This is my first ever Rise and Shine Nail Lacquer polish and I do have to say I had no issues with application or removal. Two easy coats, it leveled fine and removal was a breeze!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I decided I was going for that holiday sweater look and thought the flakies lent to the textured look of a sweater.  Stamped with MoYou Festive Collection-31 using FunkyFingers Gesso. (And even with the clear stamper, still didn't get the thumb image centered well.  Grrrrr!)

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish..

Icing All That Glitters Is Green

I'm having a lazy day around the house today; just about to make Rice Krispie squares, then go decorate the Christmas tree.  I was shopping my stash not too long ago and seen this cool green polish I decided to use for a quick and easy mani!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Icing All That Glitters is Green, no top coat. I'm not sure why they named it that...I don't see any glitter!  Maybe they mistaken that shimmer for glitter?  Anyway, nice polish though!

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Mdu 65 using an image from Marianne Nails n.56.  This is one of my favourite things to do when stamping; taking an image then stamping different parts of it on each nail for a little variety.  I really like this green on green top; I know too often that I reach for black and white stamping polish so like the use of some coloured stamping!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Hope you're having a great weekend; thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does Birthdays; November 2017

Happy Birthday to Serene of Copycat Claws and Marisa of Polish Those Nails who celebrated birthdays this month within the Digit-al Dozen!  Hope you both had great days!

This is the mani I came up with based on the inspiration picture they had chosen!

I wish I was talented enough to do water marbling and would have water marbled if I could have, but it isn't one of those methods that I'm any good at.  So I decided with the drip marble method; gathered up a few polishes to use.  While it probably doesn't matter, I didn't use the two FunkyFinger polishes as they were too thick; I replaced them with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and OPI Onyx which where runnier and therefore ran a bit better. (Please excuse my messy mani station behind!)

A sampling of the drip marbles that I would be using.

Applied the drip marbles.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

This is the inspiration photo that the ladies had picked out that our mani's are based upon!

I thought this would be a good base to stamp on; decided to go with images from Marianne Nails Professional n.05 using Mdu 2. Not sure this was the best decision to stamp on the base, or perhaps not the best images to use in hindsight, but you know the saying....!

After adding a couple studs on the accent nail, topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Marianne Nails Professional n.05

I did the other hand slightly different as those decals are just too hard to apply using my left hand; did a base of two coats of Pahlish Bespoke Gathering Shadows, then stamped using same image, just removed the section that didn't fit fully on the nail.

Here's the other ladies November birthday mani's!
