Digit-al Dozen Does Birthdays; November 2017

Happy Birthday to Serene of Copycat Claws and Marisa of Polish Those Nails who celebrated birthdays this month within the Digit-al Dozen!  Hope you both had great days!

This is the mani I came up with based on the inspiration picture they had chosen!

I wish I was talented enough to do water marbling and would have water marbled if I could have, but it isn't one of those methods that I'm any good at.  So I decided with the drip marble method; gathered up a few polishes to use.  While it probably doesn't matter, I didn't use the two FunkyFinger polishes as they were too thick; I replaced them with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and OPI Onyx which where runnier and therefore ran a bit better. (Please excuse my messy mani station behind!)

A sampling of the drip marbles that I would be using.

Applied the drip marbles.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

This is the inspiration photo that the ladies had picked out that our mani's are based upon!

I thought this would be a good base to stamp on; decided to go with images from Marianne Nails Professional n.05 using Mdu 2. Not sure this was the best decision to stamp on the base, or perhaps not the best images to use in hindsight, but you know the saying....!

After adding a couple studs on the accent nail, topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I did the other hand slightly different as those decals are just too hard to apply using my left hand; did a base of two coats of Pahlish Bespoke Gathering Shadows, then stamped using same image, just removed the section that didn't fit fully on the nail.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my US nail friends who are celebrating today!  I hope you are spending it with friends and family, being thankful for all today!  I did this little Thanksgiving mani for anyone celebrating today!

Started with a base of Picture Perfect Autumn on the thumb and OPI My Boyfriend is Buff on the rest of the nails (no pix, sorry).  Stamped Delaney Automne 003 on middle using a mix of Mdu 13 and 32.  Applied stamper decals I had made from Lina 4 Seasons - Autumn 01 on ring, index and pinky and Creative Shop 91 on thumb.  The polishes used for the decals were Picture Polish Autumn and Jealousy.

Stamper decals.

Snowflakes!

That dreaded white stuff has swirled around a couple times now; not nearly like the amount that some are posting, but it will soon be here.  So I had snowflakes on the brain when I sat down to do these nails not too long ago; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Girly Bits Past and Present, no topcoat.

Stamped some lines using Marianne Nails n.42 using Mdu 64.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  I did like this tone on tone look but decided to add more stamping.

Stamped using CICI & SISI23 using MdU 1.  I really liked that even thought this mani was double stamped, you can still see the sparkle of the holo in Past and Present shine through!

CICI & SISI 23

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish. I was afraid that the snowflakes would turn purple from the base coat but it was good!  The white stayed....well, as white as snow!

Digit-al Dozen Does Futuristic; Day 3

I'm a little late with Day 3 of Digit-al Dozen Futuristic theme, so sorry if any one's keeping track!

I have to admit, I got my order of Pahlish Kawaii this week and wanted to put it on immediately.  But I also had to do a Digit-al Dozen mani so I thought, how could I kill two birds with one stone?  Then I seen this image from the plate I've used for the last couple mani's, Creative Shop 29, sitting out on my mani desk still and I thought, that image looks like the opening to a cosmic force, or those time warps you see on TV and maybe, just maybe, we'll have time real time warps in the future. Doesn't that sound futuristic? So everything tied in together and this mani was born!  This is what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Pahlish Kawaii.

This shifty little number was hard to capture in all the pix but you can see the green glow here and there.

This was the best pix I got of the shift on Ms. Cindy!  Try as I might, I couldn't replicate it in exactly the same place on with my posing hand!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I initially was going to just stamp with the dark metallic green to hopefully catch some of the green shimmer in Kawaii, but unfortunately, the stamping didn't show up that well.  So double stamped the cosmic force (lol) image on Creative Shop 29 using Hit The Bottle Emeralds Are Forever, then FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Futuristic; Day 2

For Day 2 of the Digit-al Dozen Futuristic theme, I did galaxy nails with someone floating out in space, as in maybe in the future, we might to go space for the weekend like we go to the cottage for the weekend!   Wouldn't that be cool???!!

Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Star Gazer 305; this is three coats.  While it is beautiful, it was still patchy and oh, the tips; I couldn't get polish to stick to them no matter what!  I didn't worry too much about it as I knew I'd be sponging and would make sure they got covered.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

For my attempt at galaxy nails, sponged on Pahlish Boo-Ya!

Then sponged on Nails Inc. Regents Place, then a little FunkyFingers Gesso here and there.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I made a stamper decal using an image from Creative Shop 29.

After cutting out the stars, applied to thumb.

Then stamped using my most favourite star image from the same plate, Creative Shop 29.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Futuristic; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week; this month's theme is futuristic.  As always, the theme is a challenge but I got to thinking, if we already have self driving cars, maybe in the future, pigs really will fly!  You never know, right? There might be some really weird advances in genetics (let's hope not!).

Here's what I came up with!

Started with two coats of KBShimmer I'd Rather Be With Blue, no top coat.

Did a sponged gradient using same base and KBShimmer Sky Jinks.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Made stamper decals using images from Creative Shop 60 and 65.

Then applied them.
