More Snowflakes!

We knew it was too good to be true that winter was over.  Rain washed away the snow last week then a few mild days over the weekend but it was too good to last with the snow that arrived again these last couple of days.  It wasn't too bad thankfully but good enough reason to share more snowflake mani's! Here's one I came up with not too long ago!

Started with a base of two coats of Pahlish Bespoke Boo-Ya!, no top coat.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Lina Make Your Mark 4 with accents of Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 1 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I had painted accent stones with Pahlish Bespoke Boo-Ya! and added them to a few fingers.

Did a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Colors by Llarowe Living on Borrowed Time

Here's a super quick and easy mani that I did last fall!

Started with a base of two coats of Colors by llarowe Living on Borrowed Time, which was the April 2017 POTM.

Topped with CbL PDQ Top Coat.  This was my first time using the Cbl top coat that I had picked up because it was $5 USD at the Cbl site which I thought was a fantastic price and was placing an order already.  I didn't think it dried as quickly as my regular go to tc so it hasn't replaced my go to but I still think it's pretty good value for the money!

Stamped using an image from BP-L005 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Finished with a coat of Cbl PDQ Top Coat...but unfortunately, the base colour was one that changes the stamping polish so it turned a light purple.

Tone on Tone!

I've been trying to do some layering....remembering to do layering is more like it!  There are so many awesome polishes out there that change up the look of the base with one or two layers of another polsh...there are so many possibilities with layering!  I'm really admiring the layering that Katie of Harlow & Co. who has had some great layering on IG lately!  Here is a mani that I did some layering not too long ago; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of KBShimmer Teal It To My Heart with an accent of three coats of Moo Moo Signatures Ice Storm.

Did a coat of Moo Moo Signatures Ice Storm on all fingers.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using MdU 73 using Creative Shop 16 with an accent image of Creative Shop 70.  Love this tone on tone look!  And really like the accent colour combination as well (note for a future mani!)

Frosty Trees

I seem to have snowflakes on the brain; probably with all the snow, flurries, freezing weather and wind chills we've been having this winter.  Not to mention that there are so many different snowflake images, one could stamp for a couple weeks and not use the same image twice! Even with snowflakes on the brain, I went with something a little different with frosted trees instead and think they turned out OK. Right now, this is the only snow around as the rain and the milder temperatures have melted all the snow away.  I wonder how long it will last?  Anyway, here's what I came up with!

Started with a sponged gradient of KBShimmer Up To Snow Good, Different Dimension Be There or Be Square and Different Dimension Good Witch.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 02 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

I'm sure snowflake mani's will be shared soon; even though I didn't use them for this mani, I still have some to share!  Love all the snowflakes lol!

Gray Nautical Nails

Believe it or not, this is a gradient but unfortunately, one of the colours that I had picked out didn't show up that well when sponging.  Instead, I pretty much got the base from the one colour and the shimmer from the second one.  But sometimes that's just how doing your nails go; they don't always turn out as we expect but I went with it anyway!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Love & Beauty gray.

These are the two polishes I used; the gray for the base, then both for the gradient.

This was the end result of the gradient.  I sponged quite a few times and the seafoam just wasn't showing up so I just left it.  It's too bad; I think it would have been a pretty colour combination.  And would have gone well with the nautical stamping.

Stamped using an image from Star Nails 10 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Contrary Polish Looking Up

One of my must have polishes from the September 2017 Polish Pickup was Contrary Polish Looking Up. Even though I'm just sharing this mani now, I wore it soon after I receiving it.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Contrary Polish Looking Up.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with images from Apipila p.01 (dots) and Apipila p.02 (waves) using FunkyFingers Gesso.  My intent here was some simple yet effective stamping but with enough voids that you could see the shimmer and flakes in Looking Up.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Winter Snowflakes!

It a snowy day here today; lake-effect flurries all day and then calling for heavier snow late this afternoon into evening.  I was searching through my archives and found this snowflake mani from December 2016.  This is still very much my style and appropriate for today so thought I would share; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats each of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Red My Lips, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Sally Hansen Celeb City.

Added two coats of FingerPaints Of Quartz You Can over the OPI.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 01 (no note of stamping polish and too long ago for me to remember!)

Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 01

Stamped the thumb as well with same image (not that well apparently lol)

Added a couple accent studs, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I personally am not a fan of this mani; it's OK in theory but the middle finger just looks off; shouldn't have put the FP top coat on it and it would have matched a little better. It's OK, just not a favourite!
