Pastel Easter Eggs!

Easter has kinda snuck up on me and unfortunately, I don't have any Easter mani's ready.  The holiday lover in me is kinda sad about that.  With St. Patrick's Day, then Digit-al Dozen and life, just haven't gotten around to doing them.  Same for spring.  I am sad about this for sure.  A lot of it too has to do with the fact that I've been busy nights and weekends spending as much time as possible rearranging and organizing my polish space.  And as a result of this, I'm too tired at night to think about doing my nails; plus my nails are taking a beating, that's for sure! But some set backs are worth it for the ultimate goal of having an organized mani area I think.  To top it off, I've been battling a cold with a bad cough for almost a week.  Not that it stops me from doing my nails, just that it makes me want to cuddle under the blankets at night versus doing my nails! Anyway, here's some Easter egg nails I did on the weekend.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of skittles using Nails Inc. Cambridge Grove, OPI It's A Boy!, China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint, Nails Inc. Mayfair Mansion Mews and China Glaze Lemon Fizz, all two coats, no topcoat.

Added a light coat of Nails Inc. Good Vibes.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I think this lighting shows the sparkle and colour changing in the top coat a bit better.  It really is such a pretty top coat!

Stamped using an image from CICI & SISI 12 using Funky Fingers Gesso.  Thank goodness for a clear stamper....and even then, I didn't get all the nails the same.  Maybe some day I'll get this stamping thing down!

Hope you're having a great day!  Thanks for looking!

Bright Floral Nails!

Another mani appropriate for spring!  Heck, I would wear this anytime of the year (and in fact was sporting this in January 2018!) but I am sharing now as spring has officially arrived!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats China Glaze I'll Pink to That, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with MdU 65 using an image from FUN 26.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Decided to add a few dots for interest; dotted using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Welcome Spring!

It's 12:15 p.m. and spring has officially arrived!  While it's far too cold here for any flowers to be blooming yet, hopefully they will be here once it gets a little warmer!  According to the forecast, it won't be warm for about three more weeks.  In the meanwhile, floral nails will have to do!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  Then dry brushed with an assortment of polishes: KBShimmer In Yacht Water, KBShimmer Bahama Drama, KBShimmer Hugs and Wishes, KBShimmer Little Boy Hue, Nicole by OPI Hit The Lights, The Kit Smoothie Delight and Painted Polish Stamped in Greenery.

Stamped using an image from Marianne Nails Professional n18 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  I have no idea what happened to the middle finger; all I can think of is I forgot to remove the stamped image from the stamp before. Duh! I don't know what I was thinking lol!  I tried to do the brush stroking where I thought the flower would be stamped but that didn't work out all the well on all the fingers.  Maybe just the thumb lol.

Ms. Cindy didn't turn out too badly either; in fact, in some ways, I like it better, especially the thumb!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I thought the mani would look cool if it was matted, so after dotting flower centers to change it up a bit, added a coat of OPI matte.

I don't know about you, but I am glad spring is officially here!  I just hope it truly is the end of winter; no more snow!  I guess we'll see!

Rocking Shorties Again!

I spent a good part of my weekend organizing my polish space.  I had bought a bunch of organizers and somehow, I snapped a little piece of the corner on my thumb nail.  Well, it should have been expected; opening so many boxes, transferring so many polishes.  Anyway, last night I sat down to file the edge straight. Then I realized that my middle and index were a bit longer than her sisters so filed them down.  And kept on filing. And filing.  And before you knew it, I'm pretty much back to nubs again!  I don't mind it; it gives me a chance to use all those images that don't fit on my nails when they are longer and sure makes typing faster! Not to mention that I love dark colours on my shorties!  Anyway, long or short nails, there will always be stamping on them! Here's what I came up with on my new shorties!

Started with a stamper smooshy base of all Morgan Taylor polishes:  Tokyo A Go Go, Anime-zing Color!, Shock Therapy, Making Waves and Pop-arazzi Pose.  When the smooshy was done, it was a bit darker than I wanted, so I brush stroked here and there with some of the brighter colours.  In hindsight, I probably could have brush stroked the whole base; probably would have been faster and less polish used.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from UC 14-02 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Can you tell I changed up my lighting a bit?  My fingers don't look quite as lobster looking but the glare! Gaaa, it needs improvement!  Once the reorganizing of my space is done, hopefully one of the benefits of doing so will be I'll have a better space for taking pix.  Hopefully!

Digit-al Dozen Does Stamping; Day 5

This might be one of the hardest mani's I've ever done which is why I saved it to share for the Digit-al Dozen stamping challenge theme.  This is triple stamping, with having to line up 2 different stamped images after doing the base stamping and while it's not perfect, I don't think it turned out that badly. Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Zoya Presley and Picture Polish Bardot, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I thought I had taken pix during the stamping progression, but I guess I was concentrating too much to get the stamping done as it is triple layered stamping.  Part of the problem was that while I loved the base colours, finding stamping polishes that went well with both of them was a challenge.  The other problem was that it would have been easier to line up everything if all the stamping was exactly the same on each finger but I switched up the images a bit and then had to find exactly the same way I switched them up on stamped image 2 and 3 and that was a bit of a challenge (hopefully that makes sense lol).  Ultimately, I decided upon this scheme which kinda made it very old, traditional looking but I still liked it.  Initially, stamped the base of the roses with Mdu 63.  Then stamped the petal outlines using MdU 76.  Lastly, and this was the hardest for me to line up, stamped the leaves using MoYou Fresh Basil.

In the end, I think this was worth the effort and I like the multi dimensional or layering look of it.  I think I'll try it again sometime for sure!

Digit-al Dozen Does Stamping; Day 3

I've had this mani in the archives for a bit; well a long while as it goes back to November 6, 2014!  You know it's been a while as I don't wear my nails this long now.  Rarely anyway.  But I think this turned out pretty cool and thought it would be a great time to share as part of the Digit-al Dozen stamping challenge so this is what I came up with for day 3!

Started with one coat of Quo by Orly True Blue, no top coat.

Sponged on Quo by Orly Baby Blues.

Then sponged on FingerPaints Leonardo's Lime.

Added a coat of OPI The Man with the Golden Gun.

Stamped using images from MoYou Sailor Collection-05.

I even did Cindy; she didn't turn out too badly either!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I haven't stamped like this in a long while; I think I need to revisit this soon!

Here's the other ladies day 3 mani's.!
